Welcome to the Songwriters Handbook. Singing is a passion of mine. I have written a few songs as well when I have been inspired to do so, but wanted to learn more. So, I gathered the most helpful information that I could find and wanted to share what I have learned with everyone. Here you will find all of the information that you need to write a song. It doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner, you write songs for a hobby, or are a professional. The information can be used by anyone. The navigation on the website is designed to help you from start to finish.

Go to the “Inspiration” tab to see a variety of interviews from songwriters in the Rochester, NY area. Once there, you can find out what their song writing process is and get some great tips. Maybe you just want to jump right in and start writing; that’s ok too. Just click on “Getting Started” to learn about how you can get ideas for your song. When you have successfully gathered inspiration, “Find a Hook” will help you with a catchy chorus.

Once you have everything that you need, you can stop by the “Put it Together” tab to see how your thoughts can turn into a song that you can be proud of. You will also find links to other sites on how to get your song heard, plus an area that will take you directly to Youtube, where I have set up a channel just for this site. This site is also a place for singer/songwriters to meet others like themselves, share ideas and get encouragement. Don’t be afraid to reach out to people on the forum if you are stuck. I hope that you find what you need and thanks for visiting.
